Syracuse vs. FSU: Seminoles Open As 20-Point Favorite

That seems low.

Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

Last year, the Florida State Seminoles defeated the Syracuse Orange 59-3. This year, Vegas doesn't think it'll be quite that bad. At least not yet.

According to OddsShark, the Seminoles open as a 20-point favorite over the Orange for their game this Saturday in the Carrier Dome.

For the record, FSU opened as a 38.5-point favorite last year. And covered.

That's a pretty surprisingly-low opening number and it's sure to rise pretty quickly. Vegas might be concerned about FSU's recent early-game issues in the NC State game and the Wake Forest game. Vegas may be forgetting just how much Syracuse has struggled on offense for the last three weeks.

Other concerns for the Seminoles include the loss of Rashad Greene and Austin Barron to injury, though, again, they were able to win by 40 this weekend all the same. Plus, Syracuse has yet to learn whether or not they'll be without starting quarterback Terrel Hunt and starting wideouts Brisly Estime & Ashton Broyld.

The Seminoles (5-0, 3-0) will enter the game as the No. 1 team in the nation in both polls. Syracuse (2-3, 0-1) is looking to snap a three-game losing streak...and it's not looking good.
