Syracuse Basketball 24th in 2014-2015 Preseason Coaches Poll

We know going into the 2014-2015 season that the Syracuse Orange men's basketball team isn't expected to match up to recent versions. The inaugural coaches poll of the season speaks to that.

The Orange check in at No. 24 in the initial poll, receiving 128 votes.

The Kentucky Wildcats are your preseason No. 1, followed by the Arizona Wildcats, Duke Blue Devils, Wisconsin Badgers and Kansas Jayhawks.

Other ranked ACC squads include the No. 6 North Carolina Tar Heels, No. 8 Virginia Cavaliers and No. 9 Louisville Cardinals. In the Others Receiving Votes category, the Pittsburgh Panthers, Florida State Seminoles, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Miami Hurricanes show up.

The Villanova Wildcats (No. 12), Michigan Wolverines (No. 23) and Iowa Hawkeyes (No. 25) also show up. All three are on Syracuse's schedule, though they may or may not play Iowa.
