Syracuse Basketball: Orange Madness Scheduled For October 17

We can stop asking when basketball season starts.

Jared Wickerham

We made it! Well, almost...

Syracuse announced earlier today that Orange Madness, the official start to the 2014-15 basketball season, is scheduled for October 17, exactly one week from today. The night's festivities will include scrimmages by both the men's and women's teams, a dunk contest, a three-point contest, and a Syracuse "Legends" scrimmage.

The Legends scrimmage will feature Derrick Coleman, Lawrence Moten, John Wallace, and Pearl Washington, among others.

But the best part of the night? For the first time ever, there will be "Cuse Selfie Stations," where fans will have the opportunity to take selfies with players, coaches, and legends. (Ed. Note - Where's the inflatable jumpies?)

Tickets, which are only $5, went on sale at 10 a.m. and can be purchased over at or at the Carrier Dome Box Office. Free parking will be available in the West lots at the Dome and at Manley Field House, with shuttles running from Manley starting at 5:30 p.m.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m., and the action starts at 8:00 p.m.
