Syracuse vs. Miami: DaJuan Coleman Likely Out With Left Knee Injury

New, comments

Jerami Grant will probably get his second start of the season as Coleman recovers from a nagging knee issue.

The Syracuse Orange basketball team trotted out a different starting lineup for the first time this season against Eastern Michigan over the weekend thanks to DaJuan Coleman's bruised knee. That lineup, which sported Jerami Grant in the starting role, is likely to begin the game against the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday as well.

When asked if Coleman would play against Miami, Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said, "I don't think so.''

"Right now we're treating it," Boeheim said after Syracuse's 70-48 win over Eastern Michigan. "He's going through a series of treatments that we hope will help him be able to play. It's kind of day-by-day, not week-to-week, it's really day-to-day.He had a treatment yesterday so he couldn't play today."

Coleman is averaging 4.7 PPG and 4.3 RPG in 12 games this season. The injured knee is the same one that required surgery last year, though it is not considered the same issue.

If the EMU game is any indication, Coleman's absence may mean increased PT for Tyler Roberson and B.J. Johnson.
