Syracuse vs. Duke: The Only Thing Bigger Than The Game Is The Tailgate

Before the epic showdown between Syracuse and Duke, there's an epic tailgate planned at SU.

The upcoming basketball game between the Syracuse Orange and the Duke Blue Devils is a big deal. You know this. What you might not know is that SU is kicking things up a notch with a special tailgate for SU fans. With so many fans on campus and other folks milling about, it's probably a good idea to give them something to do beforehand so they don't all go overrun the Sbarros.

So what makes this tailgate so cool? I asked for some info and received said info below...

- Tailgate includes: one free alcoholic drink (followed by cash bar), complimentary non-alcoholic drinks, tons of tailgate food (list on website), t-shirt (of course), other SU tchotchkes, all for $30

- Opportunity to stay for a game watch if no tickets

- Roosevelt Bouie confirmed as a guest, he'll sign autographs and take pictures for free (a couple other former players will be there, too, but no confirmation yet).

- Otto the Orange and Chancellor Syverud will be making an appearance.

- Opportunity to stay for a game watch if no tickets

And if you can't attend, SU wants to see pics from wherever you're watching the game on social media. Use #BeatDuke (as if you weren't going to already) to help them keep track. They'll retweet the best ones.

Here's the thing, though. You gotta RSVP if you want to attend. Do that here ASAP, you've got until January 27. It costs $30 to attend ($15 for kiddies, free if they're five or under). Check out the tailgate site for more info.

(Also, can I just say I think that t-shirt design is one of my favorite SU designs ever? And that's saying a lot considering how many there are…)
