Apropos of nothing, here are the last five times the Syracuse Orange have defeated a ranked team.

November 27, 2004 - Alumni Stadium, Chestnut Hill, MA

Syracuse 43 - No. 17 Boston College 17

September 22, 2007 - Papa John's Cardinals Stadium, Louisville, KY

Syracuse 38 - No. 19 Louisville 35

October 23, 2010 - Mountaineer Field, Morgantown, WV

Syracuse 19 - No. 19 West Virginia 14

October 21, 2011 - Carrier Dome, Syracuse, NY (45,265)

Syracuse 49 - No. 11 West Virginia 23

November 10, 2012 - Carrier Dome, Syracuse, NY (40,312)

Syracuse 45 - No. 10 Louisville 26

It took a while for SU to do so in the Dome but they've beaten a ranked squad at home in two consecutive seasons. They're also going three-straight years of beating one ranked squad.

If they want to keep the home-ranked-win thing going on, they'll only get one shot at it this year...this weekend against the No. 3 Clemson Tigers.

You might notice that all of those wins over ranked teams, so who's the last single-seed ranked team Syracuse defeated? That would be Syracuse's 50-42 victory over No. 8 Virginia Tech in 2002. FYI, that was in the Dome and 48,239 fans watched it happen. That'd be nice.
