It’s simple math for the Orange: win three of your home games and find one game to win on the road. Aside from the two games against top 10 teams, Clemson and Florida State, any game is winnable for the Orange. It’s up to the team to find a way to win four of them if it wants to be bowling this winter.
Seton Hall pledge Isaiah Whitehead, Syracuse commit Chris McCullough and uncommitted guard Isaiah Briscoe will headline the 2013 Sharette Dixon Classic Oct. 19 at the Gauchos Gym in The Bronx.
Utilizing its superior swiftness to its advantage, the Orange (6-2-0, 1-2 Atlantic Coast) had no problems cruising past Massachusetts (0-8-1) to a 3-0 victory on Wednesday before an SU Soccer Stadium crowd of 593. The Minutemen could not keep up with the SU attack, and Syracuse extended its winning streak to three games.
Hunt was masterful under center in his first career collegiate start. The sophomore completed 16-of-21 pass attempts for 181 yards and four touchdowns. He has yet to throw an interception on the season. Hunt also rushed for 39 yards (second on the team) and a touchdown on a mere six carries.
McNabb played basketball for two years at SU, including the 1995-96 Final Four season. His wife, the former Orange point guard Roxie Nurse, ranks third on the SU women's all-time assists list with 530.
So far, Syracuse fans should be very impressed by what Bullough has done with this group. Outside of a meltdown against Northwestern, a game where two very different quarterbacks had equal success in carving up the Orange defense to the tune of 48 points, this SU bunch has been more than solid.

The Orange boast something not many schools can match, and that’s a pair of McDonald’s All-Americans on the low post in Rakeem Christmas and DaJuan Coleman. However, they’ve been something of a disappointment over the past two seasons.
New ACC members Syracuse get a rematch against the Indiana Hoosiers, who they ousted in the NCAA Tournament last season. Both Duke and North Carolina drew tough games, with Duke hosting Michigan and North Carolina travelling to Michigan State. Even Maryland, on its way out of the ACC after this season, gets a fond farewell package with a road game against Ohio State.
Call me crazy, but I think the Orange is going to play a great game against Clemson. I hope the Tigers discover that Terrel Hunt is a magic genie who is not going back into the bottle.
