The Syracuse Orange defense linemen Robert Welsh will return to practice this week, head coach Scott Shafer told reporters at his weekly press conference, nearly a week after the junior almost suffered a big injury that could have kept him out for a significant amount of time.
"Robbie Welsh is doing well. We had a scare with him, but he's back." -- Shafer

Welsh left last Saturday's 52-17 victory over Tulane in the second quarter after injuring his left leg on a tackle of Green Wave quarterback Nick Montanta. Welsh, who has a season total 12 tackles including one sack, left the field with help from trainers and was seen putting no pressure on the injured leg. There was concerns the already short-staffed SU defensive line would lose one of its biggest leaders.
However, it seems Welsh will be good to go when SU hosts visiting and nationally ranked Clemson next Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Carrier Domes
Meanwhile, junior defensive back Brandon Reddish is still questionable heading into the showdown.
