Side Note: I keep wanting to call him "Mr. Anderson," which, of course, makes me think of "The Matrix." Then I think about THE Matrix, and before you can say "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie," I'm onto basketball, and writing run-on sentences, and that's just bad for business. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it.
Name: Ri'Shard Anderson
Position: Cornerback
Year: RS Senior
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 189
Hometown: Miramar, FL
High School: American Heritage
2012 Stats: Anderson started all 13 games last year, recording somewhere between 39 and 43 tackles. He definitely had 12 assists, though, so the rest were solos. He also had an interception against Cincinnati.
2013 Projections: The post-spring depth chart indicates he's keeping his starting position, although the Penn State revision puts him neck-and-neck with Brandon Reddish. Interesting. It's clear he'll get playing time, but there seems to be some strong competition that will, hopefully, inspire Anderson to maximize his potential.
How'd He Get Here?: After de-committing from Wake Forest, he chose 'Cuse over Rutgers, Northern Illinois, and Vandy.
What'd Scout/Rivals Say?: I don't know what's going on. Rivals gave him three stars as a CB, and Scout said he's a two-star Safety. So, apparently he's a better Cornerback. Cool, because that's the position he plays for us. Win.
Money Quote: I got nothin.' Someone tell him to make some noise.
Links of Wonder: This piece explains why the Syracuse team actually has three starters at cornerback.
What Does Shafer Think: On why Anderson and Reddish are both listed as starters for the Penn State game:
"They'll all play," Shafer said. "One guy will get the nod as a starter, but the next guy may play the same amount of plays or more depending on how each series works itself out."
Interesting Nugget O'Interest: He was born in 1991. That's a palindrome. You're welcome.
Let Us Get a Good Look Atchya: Still a delightful highlight.
