Get To Know Your Orange Man - #26, SS Josh Mims

"Get to Know..." junior defensive back Josh Mims, formerly of Buffalo State (but no, not the veritable University of New York)

Name: Josh Mims

Position: Strong Safety

Year: Junior

Height: 6'0"

Weight: 187

Hometown: Syracuse, NY

High School: Nottingham

2012 Stats: Mims didn't play, according to everywhere. Last season was his first in Orange, after playing two years at D-III Buffalo State.

2013 Projections: He's currently listed third on the depth chart at strong safety -- right behind Durell Eskridge and the unflappable Ritchy Desir. So yeah, Mims could actually end up getting some playing time on defense. But special teams are far more likely.

How'd He Get Here?: He was done playing for an Arena Football team and decided to come back home to the 'Cuse. He apparently enjoys wearing the color orange.

Money Quote: Josh shares some words of wisdom, via his Facebook page (sic'd):

"The sooner you realize dnt matter what u goin threw .... Life keeps going and it's only two things u can do, be average sit around and complain or stop bitchin and do what u have to do to be where you want to be! # your worst enemy is you!"

Links of Wonder: Josh is back on the field after getting injured earlier in training camp. Hooray for injuries that don't last very long!

What Does Shafer Think: Nothing that I'm aware of. Shafer seems to like everybody, however.

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Mims was selected to the New York State Football Classic in 2009 and also ran track and played basketball in high school.

Let Me Get A Good Look Atcha: Josh chats Buffalo State football on Bengal Magazine back in 2011. Bengal magazine is a web TV show... stay with me.
