Get To Know Your Orange Man - #80 Tyler Provo

Continuing our look at the freshman, we're keeping it in the family with Tight End, Tyler Provo.

Name: Tyler Provo

Position: Tight End

Year: Freshman

Height: I guess it depends on who you ask. He's listed anywhere from 6-0 to 6-4.

Weight: 246

Hometown: West Palm Beach, FL

High School: American Heritage School

2012 Stats: Not many, unfortunately. He was out most of his senior year after aggravating a prior injury.

2013 Projections: The only tight end currently on the roster that has ever played in a college game is Beckett Wales. Add to that, Syracuse's recent use of a two-tight end formation, and it's not completely out of the question for Provo to see some action this season if he kills it at camp.

How'd He Get Here?: By turning down offers from Boston College, Central Florida, South Florida, Pitt, and Louisville, among others.

What'd Scout/Rivals Say?: Three stars all around.

Money Quote: On his brother, former Syracuse tight end Nick Provo's single-season and career reception records:

I've got to come in and try to beat his record. It's one of my goals. I think he broke the record in two years. I got four, so hopefully I can double that.

Links of Wonder: Nolan Weidner on the differences between the Provo brothers after chatting with their father, Sam.

What Does Shafer Think: That it's nice to have another Provo around.

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Tyler originally committed to Syracuse in large part because of former coach, Nate Hackett's offensive system. He came up big in the loyalty department by sticking around after Hackett left.
