Attendance numbers for the 2012-2013 NCAA college basketball season are out, and, no surprise here, the Syracuse Orange had the No. 2 attendance in the nation.

The Orange averaged 22,439 fans per game and saw 426,357 fans come through the turnstiles in total. That trailed only the Kentucky Wildcats, who averaged 23,099 per game.

They're both followed by Louisville (21,571), North Carolina (19,350) and Indiana (17,412). Randomly, Creighton finished sixth (SIXTH!). Don't ever let us play Creighton at Creighton.

One area that Syracuse was tops in the nation was most fans overall (home, away and neutral) with 832,593, edging Louisville by a little over 10K. Kentucky came in fourth. Not too shabby considering that includes the San Diego State game, which was attended by roughly 87 people.

Is this the year that Syracuse finally surpasses Kentucky? The last time we took it home, literally, was 2005. With home games against Indiana, Duke and North Carolina, not to mention the possibility that the court will be moved to the center of the Dome for one of them, you have to imagine attendance will be even higher than last year.
