With the number of Syracuse Orange players in the NBA these days, I suppose it was only a matter of time before one was traded for the other.
The Fab Melo Era is officially over in Boston. He's been dealt to the Memphis Grizzlies for some guy named Donte Greene.
Greene had signed with the Grizz late last season but didn't play for them. Melo spent most of his year with the Maine Red Claws, where he earned D-League All-Defensive First Team and D-League All-Rookie First Team honors.
And so, just like that, the Celts can pretend most of the 2013 NBA Draft never happened. And Greene moves on to his fourth team. Sounds like both guys could use the fresh start and a chance to make a team that isn't mired in their baggage. The Bakersfield Jam are the Grizzlies' D-League affiliate, FYI...
That or Melo flunked out of Celtics School. That's always a possibility as well, given, you know...Fab.
