The SBNation college football network, which is a really fancy way to describe all of us college football bloggers, has released its 2013 conference picks. And guess what? The Syracuse Orange aren't expected to be the worst team in the ACC Atlantic!
The Orange have been slotted as the fifth-best team in the seven-team ACC Atlantic Division, ahead of the Boston College Eagles and Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Syracuse's average rating was 4.87, just barely behind the Maryland Terrapins (4.8) and way ahead of BC (5.5).
The Clemson Tigers were picked to win the Atlantic, with the Florida St. Seminoles and N.C. State Wolfpack behind them.
The Miami Hurricanes were picked to win the Coastal, eeking out Virginia Tech. Fellow newbie Pittsburgh Panthers were picked to finish fifth.
The other conference picks include Louisville (AAC), Oklahoma (B12), Ohio St./Michigan (B1G), Oregon/UCLA (Pac-12) and Alabama/Georgia (SEC).
Whatcha think? Nice to see a core of college football people don't generically-think Syracuse will finish last just because that's what they did five years ago. Check out the full selections here.
