Ever wanted the opportunity to have Jim Boeheim demean you based on merit and results rather than just because you exist? Then step right up and apply to be the next Director of Men's Basketball Operations.
The position was most recently held by Tim O'Toole, who left to become an assistant coach with the Stanford Cardinal. He had held the job since last December, when he replaced Stan Kissel, who resigned in the midst of ongoing team academic issues.
Considering how academic suspensions have become a yearly tradition for the Orange squad, this position is hugely critical for the team and the reputation of SU Athletics. So what does it require?
Responsible for managing the efficient operation of the men’s basketball office, including team travel; liaison with department support services; assisting in the management of all aspects of basketball camps and clinics; overseeing game day activities; and at the direction of basketball coaching staff, assist with the coordination of recruit visits. Must adhere to all departmental policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Big East Conference, Atlantic Coast Conference, and the NCAA. Supervised by head men’s basketball coach.
Pretty sure you can scratch the Big East Conference off that list. Don't think we need to adhere to any of their stuff anymore.
"Supervised by head men's basketball coach." Chilling.
Cover letter, resume and contact information for three professional references must be attached. So please, don't put your mom down as a reference, as much as she might love the opportunity.
