Fear Mike Hopkins, He's Out-Recruited Hundreds Of Timelords

I don't need to tell you that Syracuse Orange assistant coach and lady-in-waiting Mike Hopkins is very, very, very good at his job. Still, one often wonders how he stacks up against his peers out in the recruiting world. When he walks into the gym, do other recruiters tremble and start crying? If ESPN's Jeff Goodman is correct, the answer is yes.

Goodman surveyed 200 college coaches and asked them who the most feared recruiters on the trail were. Mike Hopkins came in second overall.

"He'll take over for Jim Boeheim when he calls it quits, and Hopkins should be able to make certain the talent level doesn't drop. He's recruited guys like Hakim Warrick, Gerry McNamara, Dion Waiters, Michael Carter-Williams and DaJuan Coleman over the years. He's high-energy and is especially well-connected on the East coast.''

He doesn't even make mention of Hops' amazing tweeting prowess. Seriously, chart the re-rise of Syracuse basketball in the last decade and line it up with players that Hop is responsible for having brought to SU. It's no coincidence.
