ACC Kickoff: Syracuse Football Picked Sixth In ACC Atlantic Division

The Syracuse Orange will head into their inaugural ACC season picked to finish sixth in the Atlantic Division.

USA TODAY Sports

Let the underestimating of Syracuse Orange football...continue!

The Orange have been picked to finish sixth out of seven teams in the ACC Atlantic Division this season, according to the ACC media.

The Orange received 320 points or votes or whatever, placing them behind the Maryland Terrapins (373) but well ahead of the Boston College Eagles (211), who seem a clear pick for the basement.

The Clemson Tigers (102 1st-place votes) are your Atlantic Division favorite, followed by the Florida St. Seminoles (18 1st-place votes).

Over in the Coastal Division, the Miami Hurricanes are the favorite, followed by the Virginia Tech Hokies, North Carolina Tar Heels and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Fellow newbie Pittsburgh Panthers have been picked to finish fifth.

Tajh Boyd ran away with the ACC Preseason Player of the Year pick. He received 105 votes and no other player received more than four. No Syracuse players were voted for,

The trend pick is Clemson over Miami in the ACC Championship game, though Clemson over VT & UNC also received sizable votes.

So...how you feel about sixth? Right on target or just a bit low?
