Get To Know Your Orange Man - #93, DE Micah Robinson

We're in the middle of the 90's and that means we're making the rounds on the defensive line. Next up, junior Micah Robinson.

Frank Victores-US PRESSWIRE

We're in the middle of the 90's and that means we're making the rounds on the defensive line.

Name: Micah Robinson

Position: Defensive End

Year: Junior

Height: 6'4"

Weight: 265

Hometown: Cleveland, OH

High School: John Adams High School

2012 Stats: Robinson played in every game for the Orange, starting against Stony Brook. He recorded 18 tackles and 1.5 sacks total.

2013 Projections: Robinson was on the first-team in the spring game and he's penciled in as a starter on the post-spring depth chart. Either he or Robert Welsh can thank Markus Pierce-Brewster for getting booted and opening up a spot. He's backed up by TE-transport Ron Thompson and a whole bunch of untested guys, so, if we wants the starting gig, it's probably his.

How'd He Get Here?: Micah committed to SU over a number of Big East clubs. He originally considered staying closer to home for school, in part to help his family take care of his sister who suffers from a disability. However, Scott Shafer and former SU assistant coach Jimmy Brumbaugh were able to bring Micah into the fold.

What'd Scout/Rivals Say?: Both list Micah as a 2-star recruit.

Money Quote: "I know I'm not as strong as I need to be yet or as quick as I need to be yet to play at this level of ball. I feel my time is going to come shortly...I'm going to wait until my time comes to show my skills. It's all going to come in time. [Jay Bromley]'s young, just like I am. We're the future."

What Does Shafer Think: Well, D-line coach Tim Daoust doesn't exactly think Robinson has reached his potential yet...

"We need to establish a pass rusher at that position that maybe we don't have quite yet. Even though I think Micah and Rob have some abilities, I'm looking for Chandler Jones or Brandon Sharpe, a guy that can straight out go get the quarterback.

"We have some new bodies in there. We're a little thin there. I think Robert Welsh and Micah Robinson had solid springs, but I've left plenty on them for them to work on this summer."

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Robinson keeps his Twitter profile on private. For the best, probably.

Let Us Get a Good Look Atchya: If you can find a video of Micah, let me know. I got nothing.
