The Syracuse Orange women's lacrosse team collected its third Big East Conference Tournament crown Saturday defeating the evil Georgetown Hoyas, 14-7, in the nations capital. The victory helped the No. 5-ranked Orange (16-3) earn the fourth seed in the NCAA Tournament bracket, which was released Sunday night.
SU will host a Boston College/Dartmouth first-round showdown on Friday (4 p.m. ET). The winner of that contest gets the Orange on Sunday, May 12, at 3 p.m.
Maryland earned the new 26-team field's top seed, while No 2 Northwestern, No. 3 North Carolina, No. 5 Florida and No. 6 Georgetown also earn first-round byes. The Gators will be SU's Elite 8 opponent if both teams advance that far.
Here's the complete NCAA bracket.
The Orange will head into the NCAAs matching its highest seed in the tournament and looking to keep its 11-game winning streak alive.
Freshman attack Kayla Treanor may head into the postseason as the hottest player in the nation. She tallied seven points in Saturday's championship win over the Hoyas, and collected the BET Most Outstanding Player Award tallying 13 points in the two-game BET run.
