About an hour after the Syracuse Orange men's lacrosse team begins its run to the 2013 Big East Conference Tournament crown, the No. 5/5-ranked women's lacrosse squad will do the same thing (5:30 p.m. ET) in the nation's capital against No. 18/18 UConn.

The winner of the semifinal showdown between the top-seeded Orange (14-3) and No. 4-seeded Huskies (13-3) will face either No. 2 Georgetown or No. 3 Loyola in the finals on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.

Tonight's game can be heard via local radio (89.1 FM) or online at Orange All-Access.

Syracuse, which is on a nine-game winning streak, is aiming for its third Big East Tournament crown, its first since 2008 when it defended its 2007 title at Notre Dame.

The Orange, the league's regular season champs for the sixth time in seven seasons, are led by a pair of Big East Player of the Years, junior Alyssa Murray (Attack Player of the Year) and senior Becca Block (Defensive Player of the Year). Both were honored Wednesday night at the conference's women's lacrosse banquet.

UConn are losers of two straight, including a 13-7 loss to Loyola. Earlier in the season, the Huskies lost to the Orange, 18-7, at the Carrier Dome.

UConn has never beaten Syracuse, which owns a 16-0 record against the Huskies.
