The Cuse Awards: Basketball, Football & Field Hockey Dominate The Evening

The Cuse Awards, a.k.a. The Night Of A Thousand DOC Gross Photo Ops, was last night. Syracuse Orange athletes from all sports were honored and feted for their efforts. It's no S.O.B. Awards, but, it'll do.

The Cuse Awards, a.k.a. The Night Of A Thousand DOC Gross Photo Ops, was last night. Syracuse Orange athletes from all sports were honored and feted for their efforts. It's no S.O.B. Awards, but, it'll do.

Men's Team of the Year: SU men's basketball team

Women's Team of the Year: SU field hockey team

Male Athlete of the Year: Ryan Nassib

Female Athlete of the Year: Kayla Alexander

Soladay Award (top male and female scholar-athlete): Field Hockey's Iona Holloway and Ryan Nassib

Male Rookie of the Year: soccer goalie Alex Bono, soccer

Female Rookie of the Year: lacrosse player Kayla Treanor

Coach of the Year (tie): Ian McInyre (men's soccer), Jim Boeheim (men's basketball), Ange Bradley (field hockey)

Male Performance of the Year: Sir Alec Lemon

Female Performance of the Year: Michelle Tumolo

Play of the Year: Ryan Nassib's pass to Alec Lemon against South Florida.

Shot of the Year: Brittney Sykes' buzzer-beater to defeat St. John's.

Game of the Year: Women's lacrosse's double-overtime 14-13 comeback win over Florida in the Final Four.

Orange Nation 'Cuse Award (given to student-athlete who supports other student-athletes the most): Baye Matrix Keita.

Of course, not everyone went home happy...
