A whole hell of a lot of Syracuse Orange fans are on their way to Atlanta to watch their boys take on the Michigan Wolverines for the chance to play for the National Championship on Monday. Before and after that game, SU fans are going to need places to go and people to chit-chat with about how many miles they've traveled and how SU-themed their man caves are.
If you're going, know where you can do that.
The Syracuse University Alumni Club of Atlanta is running the show down there and they've got a few things going on.
They will also host a very long happy happy happy hour on Friday at the Hudson Grille downtown. This one is located across the street from the CNN Center and Philips Arena, home of the Atlanta Hawks. The gathering is from 4:30-9. The Orange practices at the Georgia Dome from 2-3. The Hudson Grille is within walking distance.
Thompson said he's since amended the start time of the Happy Hour gathering to 4:44 p.m. He said he talked the Downtown Hudson Grille manager into letting Syracuse use the bar as its headquarters for the Final Four following an NFL game with the Atlanta Falcons.
So basically, when in doubt, go there. That's where I'm headed on Saturday after my flight gets in. Save a seat for me.
If you need a ride around town, keep an eye out for Buick Encores, Enclaves, and LaCrosses branded with "Complimentary Shuttle" stickers. They'll take you to the Georgia Dome, Atlantic Station, World Congress Center or MARTA for free.
