The weekend got off to a good start with the Syracuse Orange women's lacrosse team's 19-7 thrashing of the Louisville Cardinals. The win improved the No. 5/6 Orange's record to 8-3 and keeps the momentum going as the team looks to regroup from early losses.
Meanwhile there are two major events Syracuse fans need to keep an eye on.
The men's lacrosse team (8-2) means to make good on back-to-back thrilling wins over top programs when they host the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (2-10) on Senior Day. The Saturday game will be televised on TWCS at 1:00 p.m.. Among the seniors to be honored (how did we get to Senior Day already?) are Kyle Carey, Stefan Carpentieri, Luke Cometti, Joe Fazio, David Hamlin, Matthew Lerman, JoJo Marasco, Brian Megill, Matt Pratt and Griffin Vehar.
Interesting stat via SUA, this year's squad is believed to be (does no one have Internet?) the first Syracuse team to ever pull the Quadfecta, defeating Hopkins, Virginia, Princeton and Cornell in the same season. So they sure as hell better not lose to Rutgers.
Meanwhile, are you excited for Sunday's open spring practice? No? Then you better watch this video right f***ing now.
Now go find a wall and run the f*** through it.
The practice will be held Sunday, April 14, at 1:30 p.m. at the Schwartzwalder-Katz practice fields in the Lampe Athletics Complex behind Manley Field House (that's a mouthful). Admission is free.
Will Drew Allen be there? We'll have to wait and see...
