Lauren Penney only 3 weeks removed from indoor nationals, and a second-team All-America honor, Penney returned to the oval to compete in the 5k race. Her 15:56.8 clocking was a clinic as she put a significant gap on the field with about a mile to go and never looked back. This time lowers her previous school record in the event, a 16:09 clocking from two years ago. Her mark will surely get her to the NCAA Championships and puts her close the National Championship standards.

Sarah Pagano and Jess Peterson also competed in the 5k running times of 16:25 each

Martin Hehir ran a very nice personal best in 13:53.65, this mark puts him within striking distance of the school record of 13:46.46 from way back in 1982.

Tito Medrano and Reed Kamyszek ran times of 29:43, and 29:45, respectively

Also, as if there wasn't reason enough to ignore SU Athletics coverage, Ryan Urie will never be tripling (running three events) in a meet that isn't Big East. The direct quote: "Competing for the Orange in the men's 1500m will be...Urie will have a busy weekend, competing in the 3000m steeplechase and the 5000m race as well." Case and point, no one that writes that garbage understands the sport at all!
