While the basketball team is embroiled in a bitter war with Georgetown, it's important to note that the Syracuse Orange men's and women's lacrosse teams are doing important battles of their own Saturday.
The 2-1 men's team kicks off Big East play by heading to Chester, PA to take on the St. John's Red Storm. If that sounds weird, it should. The two are taking part in the inaugural Whitman's Sampler Independence Classic at PPL Park. This game is followed by Penn-Villanova at 2:30 p.m. and Penn State-Lehigh at 5 p.m (Head to College Crosse to talk about them). Speaking of CC, they've got previews of both SU and SJU. Our game's opening face-off is set for 12:00 p.m. ET.
Meanwhile, the 2-2 women's team looks to get back on the right side of the W-L standings when they head to Towson to take on...uh...Towson. The No. 16 Tigers are 1-3 and Syracuse is 8-0 all-time against them. So...they should win.
