The most common question asked at Pro Day: Is Scott Shafer the guy to lead Syracuse Football into the ACC and continue reviving the program? The resounding answer: Yes.
"Coach Shafer is one of a kind and you guys know that," said Ryan Nassib. "I couldn't be happier with the decision the school made."
"Shafer's the man," said Shamarko Thomas. "He's like a father figure to me. I hope the best for him and I know he'll do well." When asked about what Shafer's like behind the scenes: "Crazy man. Yell, throw things, just attack the game. That's the kind of coach you want."
"I think they're in for a wild ride," said Zack Chibane. "Coach Shafer is an animated guy. I don't think there's a better guy who could have taken over the program."
"I wouldn't want the head coach to be anyone else but Coach Shafer," said Justin Pugh. "His guys would run through a wall for him. First thing I do when I walk in the building, Coach Shafer is there to shake my hand and ask how I'm doing. Shows you the kind of guy he is."
"He's always talking about juice," elaborated Pugh. "We would get pumped up on the offensive side when he heard him giving his pregame speech."
I hope we have a camera on Shafer at all times during the game. Can't miss a second of this.
