Syracuse 66 - Cal 60: Crabbe & Cobb Salads Tossed, On To The Sweet Sixteen

Syracuse advances to the Sweet Sixteen thanks to a 66-60 slugfest win over Cal.

H/T to a lot of people for that headline. It was a collaborative effort.

You might want to complain about how ugly the game was. You might want to bitch and moan about the way the second half dragged. You might even want to say Syracuse looked terrible.

Fine, but, who gives a f***? THEY WON AND THEY'RE ADVANCING TO THE SWEET SIXTEEN!!!

When it comes to the NCAA Tournament, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter how good you look. It doesn't matter how pretty is was. It doesn't matter where the game ranks all-time. It doesn't matter if someone scores enough points or if someone else scores none.

The only thing that matters is winning.

If you don't think so, go ask Gonzaga, Georgetown, New Mexico and St. Louis if they disagree.

C.J. Fair scored 18 and led the Orange, like you figured he would. The James Southerland Foul Trouble Scenario reared its ugly head again so it's something to keep an eye on. Michael Carter-Williams made some key plays down the stretch.

And Baye MatrixKeita. I mean, what the hell? When did Baye Moussa Keita turn into the most clutch player on the Syracuse roster?

Savor, Syracuse fans. Don't complain. Don't second guess. Enjoy. Those of us old enough know all-too-well that this isn't a right, it's a privilege. And good f***ing job to the Syracuse basketball team and Jim Boeheim for providing it once again.

On to D.C, where, if they want, Georgetown can come watch us play. They're available.
