Syracuse Basketball No. 16/18 In Final Regular Season Polls

The final polls before the NCAA Tournament are out and the Orange have moved up in both, as well as in other rankings.

The Syracuse Orange spent last week getting back to form with three consecutive wins in the Big East Tournament, including wins over Pitt and Georgetown, before getting shellacked by Louisville in the championship game. They simultaneously proved they're a legitimate talent while also confirming that they're capable of bombing massively. So before they take to the NCAA Tournament, the pollsters upped them accordingly.

In the AP Poll, Syracuse moved up to No. 16 (from No. 19). Gonzaga was able to hold off Louisville to maintain the top spot in the poll. Other Big East schools include No. 8 Georgetown, No. 15 Marquette, No. 20 Pittsburgh and No. 23 Notre Dame.

In the Coaches Poll, Syracuse moved up from No. 20 to No. 18. Gonzaga maintained it's No. 1 ranking much easier here. Big East schools in the rankings are No. 2 Louisville, No. 8 Georgetown, No. 16 Marquette and No. 22 Pittsburgh.

The AP Voter You Arbitrarily Hate This Week is a double-bill of our good friend Jon Wilner (who probably only watched the Louisville game) and Ryan Thorburn, both of whom left Syracuse off their ballot this week.

The AP Voter You Arbitrarily Love This Week is a four-way tie between Dick Weiss, Matt McCoy, Percy Allen and Tim Pearall, all of whom have the Orange up at No. 12.
