Lauren Penney ended her dominant season at the NCAA Championship meet this past weekend in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the University of Arkansas. Lauren finished 13th with a 9:24 clocking in the 3000m run to end her dominate season with on an unfortunate note. The finish gives Penney a second team All-America honor. A Syracuse harrier has rarely had a season so dominant. Let's look at the season that Penney has left in her wake...
- Besting her previous indoor mile school record to 4:37.41.
-
Earning the Syracuse best mark in the 3km run at 9:06.32
-
A split of 4:34 to anchor the Distance Medley Relay and lower the Syracuse school record to 11:20.03
- Excelling off the track as well as on, Penney was named the SU BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete of the year.
Look for a the Orange Track and Field team to be back in action at the Stanford Invite on March 30th. Expect Penney to focus on the 5,000m run and more records to fall.
