Syracuse Basketball Falls To No. 19/No. 20 In Polls

It's been a free-fall on the court the last couple weeks for the Syracuse Orange and the same can be said of the Orange in the polls, as they fall to season-lows (or highs, as it were) across the board.

It's been a free-fall on the court the last couple weeks for the Syracuse Orange and the same can be said of the Orange in the polls, as they fall to season-lows (or highs, as it were) across the board.

In the AP Poll, Syracuse (23-8) is down to No. 19 after a week that included a win over DePaul and loss to No. 5 Georgetown. That puts the Orange behind New Mexico, St. Louis, Pitt & Arizona. Gonzaga is still No. 1, followed by Duke and Indiana. Big East teams in the poll are No. 4 Louisville, No. 5 Georgetown, No. 12 Marquette, No. 17 Pitt and No. 24 Notre Dame.

In the Coaches Poll, Syracuse has dipped all the way to No. 20. That puts them just behind Pitt and just ahead of St. Mary's. The top three is Gonzaga, Duke and Indiana. Big East teams in the polls are No. 4 Louisville, No. 5 Georgetown, No. 13 Marquette and No. 19 Pitt.

Over at the ESPN Power Rankings, the Orange tumble all the way down to No. 22 overall. Quite a few folks dropped the Orange out of their Top 25 altogether while Eamonn Brennan is still a somewhat true-believer by ranking us at No. 17.

The AP Voter You Arbitrarily Hate This Week is actually a collection of twelve voters who didn't put SU in their poll at all. Though I suppose you're not going to get too pissed off about it.

The AP Voter You Arbitrarily Love This Week is...Ron Morris? Is this possible? Our good friend Ronny actually has SU all the way up at No. 15. Knowing how terrible Ron's poll calculation are, this actually makes me feel terrible.
