Scott Shafer held a press conference to introduce his 19 recruits that will join the 2013 Syracuse Orange football team. Here's what he had to say about the process, the goals and the players themselves (watch the video here):

"We spent the last few weeks doing a good job of putting together a great class of young men who we think can help us win games here at Syracuse."

"I'm really excited about this class because it represents high character men who really love that game of football and treat it with respect. I was proud of the way they operated on the signing date. I think you guys will be excited to meet these kids when they get on campus."

"Bud, not to cut you off, but I can tell where you're going...I can tell by your face." - to Poliquin

"He's not the prettiest guy." - discussing DC Chuck Bullough

"The last girl in the bar always gets looked at." - when talking about recruits they had relationships with who went elsewhere.

"You take that five-star guy and a two-star guy and let my guy just go after your guy with a chip on his shoulder and I’ll be excited to see where we turn out."

"Yeah, we may not be the fastest, we may not be the biggest, we may not be the strongest, but by God we’re gonna play our butts off here...We’ll play in this conference with a chip on our shoulder."

"I don't know how many games we're gonna win. I just know I'm gonna be glad to fighting with these guys next to me."

P.J. Batten

He's a kid who I could consider a twofer...We want him to really excel for us as the tight end position."

"He's also got a big body that's gonna continue to get heavier and he does a good job putting his face on people."

John Burton

"He bends well."

Brisly Estime

"He's only 5'9" but he is dynamic....return after return where he makes people look silly."

"If you watched his wide receiver tape, you'd say 'holy mackerel.'"

Alex Hayes

"He's got good feet."

"He's like an eleven handicap on the golf course. First O-lineman I've heard of that can play golf."

Marquez Hodge

"Good hard-nosed kid that comes a from a military family."

Darius Kelly

"Another army brat."

"Worldly kid."

Mitch Kimble

"Tremendous upside."

Austin Wilson

"A kid that can really throw the ball."

"I went to see Austin...and he had a big black eye."

Josh Kirkland

"The best kept secret in the JC circuit in Kansas."

"Country-strong kid from Kansas."

John Miller

"Really likes to move ya."

Kendall Moore

"Babyface."

"We have him as an offensive lineman but he could play tight end."

Tyler Provo

"It’s great to continue the legacy of having a Provo in the program."

"Our challenge to him is to see if he can beat his brother's records."

Chauncey Scissum

"I think this kid is probably the biggest darkhorse in the class."

"We'll start him out at corner, he could play safety, he could play nickel linebacker."

Tavon Trejo

"The body type of Chandler Jones."

"He's extremely sudden."

Wayne Williams

"A big old dog we've been chasing around for a couple years."

"6'4", 310, can do a backflip for ya."

Corey Winfield

"A young Greg Jennings."

"Only guy I've seen jump higher than him is Rob Moore."
