All The Doubleheader Scrimmages Belong to Syracuse Men's Lacrosse, Buses Not So Much

Ho-hum Syracuse men's Lacrosse keeps winning opening season scrimmages against mediocre opposition. This time, the Orange crushed Robert Morris 18-10 and took out No. 19 Ohio State 8-7 in a game that wasn't as close as the scoreline says. Oh and John Desko will never ever ever take a long bus ride again.

Syracuse Men's Lacrosse will own all of your preseason double header scrimmages against mediocre opposition. This time, the Orange cruised to a 18-10 win over Robert Morris and a 8-7 victory over Ohio State. In game one, Bobby Wardwell kept Syracuse in the game to a 6-3 halftime lead before Dominic Lamolinara finished up the game. No one player dominated the scoring in game one, but the usual names appeared: Billy Ward, Luke Comeetti, JoJo Marasco, Derek Maltz, etc.

The story of game two was Kevin Rice. Rice only notched one point in the Ohio State game but unleashed his ability against Robert Morris, dishing out five assists to help the Orange and Dylan Donahue, who tallied four goals in the second game. The Orange went up 11-2 at half over the Pittsburgh school and thus John Desko allowed the backups to finish out the win.

Earlier in the week, I told you that John Desko wasn't looking forward to the long bus ride that was Ohio State. After this past visit, I think he's going to stick to drawing people to Central New York. At around 7:30, the team bus broke down and the team was stuck for about an hour until they could switch busses. Good team bonding for the guys and John Desko will not continue to own Ohio Doubeheader scrimmages unless they come to New York.

The team now has two weeks to prepare for their opening game on February 17, a 4 PM contest at home against Albany.
