Kris Joseph's time in the Boston Celtics organization, specifically or tangentially, is over. The good news? He's off to Springfield!

The Springfield Armor announced today that they have acquired Joseph from the Maine Red Claws in exchange for forward James Mays.

In response, the Shelbyville TurnipCats tried to swing a three-player deal for Fab Melo but were thwarted. Owner Shelbyville Manhattan's glass of turnip juice was bitter, bittersweet last evening.

Joseph (6-7, 210, Syracuse) appeared in 12 games (eight starts) with the Red Claws this season, averaging 18.2 points on .437 shooting, 5.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.6 steals in 34.1 minutes per game. Joseph scored a season-high 28 points on November 23 at Canton.

"We are excited to have Kris Joseph join our team," said Brooklyn Nets General Manager of Minor League Operations Milton Lee. "Kris is a player we have watched at Syracuse and with the Celtics and we think his athleticism and scoring ability should be a big boost for us."

Kris will make his Armor debut Wednesday against the Idaho Stampede and will wear No. 24 for Springfield. The Armor are affiliated with the Brooklyn Nets. Also, their mascot has a bucket head.
