No. 2 Syracuse Orange (9-0) vs. St. John's Red Storm (6-2) GameThread

For the first time since the 1978-79 season, the Syracuse Orange and St. John's Red Storm will play one another as non-conference foes when they meet up in Madison Square Garden for a Sunday showdown today.

The game tips around 12:00 p.m. EST and marks the first appearance for the Orange on Fox Sports 1. Gus Johnson and Bill Raftery are on the call so, if nothing else, it's gonna be noisy.

The first in a home-and-home series for the former Big East rivals could go a long way in establishing whether or not this rivalry retains meaning.
