Inside Lacrosse thinks the Syracuse Orange are the No. 2 team in the nation headed into the season.
They don't, however, seem to think the Orange have a go-to guy. Or at least they don't see the next Powell Brother on this year's squad. Four SU players were named to their Preseason All-America Teams, though none higher than the 3rd team.
Junior defenseman Sean Young , who starred for the Orange in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, was named to the third team, while junior middie Henry Schoonmaker, senior middie Matt Harris and sophomore defenseman Brandon Mullins were all placed on the fourth team.
Clearly, IL thinks the M.O. of the Orange is defense this year. I'm sure folks like Kevin Rice, Dylan Donahue and Hakeem Lecky will have something to say about that.
The Orange also saw a partial schedule get released and we'll get some feedback on that from College Crosse shortly. In the meantime, please note that we play Colgate after the ACC Tournament. That's weird.
