Two weeks ago, we dropped the Quest-O-Meter all the way down to about 25%. Coming off an embarrassing loss coupled with a 3-4 record, things did not look very good for the Syracuse Orange in their Quest For Belk. What a difference two weeks will make. Thanks to a Bye Week and a 13-0 win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, the Orange are right back to the 50% mark in their never-ending quest for bowl mediocrity.
I mention this in the comments somewhere, but aside from Florida State, Clemson and Georgia Tech, every other team in the ACC seems capable of losing to every other team. Sure, Maryland, Pitt & BC could all beat us, but they could all lose to us as well and it wouldn't be THAT shocking. So we've still got a lot of hope left in terms of bowl eligibility, even with that FSU game staring us down.
Syracuse.com did an updated bowl projection and they've got Syracuse in a "pick'm" slot with Pittsburgh for the Military Bowl. It's not hard to see those Pittsburgh and BC games ending up as "elimination games" for all three teams involved. Or at least helping to determine who goes to Annapolis, who goes to Shreveport and who stays home.
