The Syracuse Orange celebrate their win over the then-No. 1 Louisville Cardinals by moving up from No. 6 in both polls to No. 3 and No. 4, depending on who you ask.
In the AP Poll, the Orange are tied for No. 3 with Kansas, both of whom are behind No. 1 Duke and No. 2 Michigan. Syracuse received eight votes for No. 1 compared to Kansas' seven votes, Michigan's 11 votes and Duke's 39 votes.
In the Coaches Poll, the Orange top out at No. 4. Duke is No.1 but Kansas in No. 2, followed by Michigan and Cuse. The Orange received two first-place votes here.
Good thing we got that Louisville win on the resume because San Diego State dropped out of the AP Poll this week following two losses. Other notable teams in the polls include Louisville (5/5), Cincinnati (21/20), Notre Dame (24/23) and San Diego State (UNR/25).
In the ESPN Power Rankings, Syracuse is No. 3 overall. Michigan is No. 1, Kansas is No. 2 and Duke is down at No. 4. Eamonn Brennan, Rece Davis, Seth Greenburg all have the Orange at No. 1. Stephen Bardo leaves the Orange down at No. 5 while putting Louisville at No. 2.
But the real piece de resistance is Jay Bilas, who DROPPED Syracuse from 7th to 8th in his poll while keeping Louisville up at No. 3. What in God's name? Bilas will be calling the Syracuse - Cincy game today so I'm sure we'll hear all about it.
The AP Voter You Arbitrarily Hate This Week continues to be Jon Wilner, who was kind enough to move Syracuse all the way up to No. 10. That's still six spot behind Louisville, the team they just beat, but, it's baby steps for Wilner.
The AP Voter You Arbitrarily Love This Week are the eight voters who said Syracuse is the No. 1 team in all the land. God bless you all.
