No. 6 Syracuse vs. No. 1 Louisville: TV Listings, Time, History & More

The top-ranked Louisville Cardinals host the No. 6 Syracuse Orange on Saturday. This soon-to-be ACC rivalry enters the homestretch of it's Big East days in style.

David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

Last year, the Syracuse Orange spent quite a bit of time at No. 1. This year, the Louisville Cardinals are getting their chance to wear the crown. Let's try to put a stop to that, shall we? Find out everything you need to know about the game below...

Date: Saturday, January 19th

Time: 4:00 p.m. EST

Location: YUM! Center, Louisville, KY

TV: ESPN/ESPN3

Announcers: Mike Patrick & Len Elmore

Radio: Syracuse IMG Network/WAER 88.3/WTKW 99.5 FM/ESPN 97.7 FM/Sirius 112/XM 197

Records: Syracuse 16-1 (4-0), Louisville 16-1 (4-0)

Rankings: Syracuse No. 6/6, Louisville No. 1/1

Louisville's Last Game: The Cards looked every bit the No. 1 team in the nation (in the 2nd half, at least) in their 73-58 win over UConn on Monday.

U of L's relentless pressure wore down UConn, which turned the ball over 16 times and went nine minutes without a field goal during one stretch in the second half. The Huskies shot just 25.9 percent from the field in the second half after scorching the nets at a 53.8 percent clip in the first.

Series: Lousiville leads 13-6.

Current Streak: 2, Syracuse

Last Game: The Orange wrapped up their epic regular season with a 58-49 win over the Cards thanks to a defensive clamp-down. Brandon Triche had himself a day, scoring 18 in 28 minutes.

Louisville Last Year: Syracuse might have beaten the Cardinals twice but it was Louisville left standing in the final weekend. They capped a 22-9 regular season with a Big East Championship and a trip to the Final Four where they were felled by eventual-champ Kentucky.

Louisville Coach: Rick Pitino (12th season) - You may have heard of him. Jim Boeheim likes him, even though sometimes he doesn't.

"Fear Me, I've Killed Hundreds Of Timelords": Russ Smith is the undisputed scoring leader of the team, averaging 18.9 PPG. He's also the team's most prolific three-point shooter. As you might have gathered, both of those things can cause problems for us. Gorgui Dieng (9.2 PPG, 10.4 RPG) ain't no slouch either.

Fun Fact: This t-shirt exists, which can't possibly be a good thing for Louisville.

Unexciting Reason To Watch: We don't do very well at Louisville traditionally (2-7). This might be the first regular season game in a while that SU fans expect to lose.

Exciting Reason To Watch: They're No. 1! We're No. 6! We could have a huge season-changing win here! Or, I suppose, we will find out exactly who this team is! Which is exciting...potentially!
