So, you've had a day to begin digesting the new and improved (I swear!) Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician. I just wanted to let you guys know that...
1. It Gets Better.
2. We're all jumping into the unknown together.
Even with all the beta testing I got to do beforehand, I'm still learning exactly what all these new bells and whistles are for as well as locating the old bells and whistles and making sure they're still being chimed and blown.
I know there are some things you might not like. I just wanted to pass along a few nuggets to try and put you at ease...
- All of those issues you're having with browsers and logins and comments? The techie nerds who built this whole thing are being made well aware of all them and are working out the kinks. Bear with them.
- Keep doing what you were doing. Drop FanPosts & FanShots. Leave comments. Interact. All of these changes, fancy graphics and layout changes mean nothing at the end of the day. What makes TNIAAM great is that the community is a well-oiled machine of participation, community and fun.
- If there is any new feature you should probably get to know, it's the StoryStream. If you see a story on the site with updates like the Field Hockey one, that's a StoryStream. It's a way to continue telling a story through new posts and keep the entire story throughline together. Each story in a StoryStream is its own blog post but is also a part of the bigger stream. It takes a little getting used to, especially if you're trying to comment.
- Looking for all that stuff that used to be on the side menus like the TNIAAM Shoppe or Future FB Opponents, check the Library drop down. If you want team rosters or stats, check the Team drop down.
- Have questions? Ask them. Make a FanPost. Email me. Tweet me. I'm here to pretend I know how to help.
Hope that helps. If you absolutely hate the changes and want to murder a kitten, you're just gonna have to go murder a kitten. All I can tell you is that I know for a fact there are very smart people at SB Nation who are trying to create an environment that is fun, informative and easy to navigate for you guys. I think they're well on their way to doing it. They need our help to fine tune it. But I think we'll all get there together and make TNIAAM even better.
Thanks for reading. Thanks for being a part of the community. Thanks for complaining (seriously). Thanks.
