You like the Syracuse Orange. You like the Syracuse Orange more when they're winning. You like the Syracuse Orange even more when they're dominating.

So you really should like the Syracuse Orange field hockey team.

The Orange defeated Kent St. over the weekend by the score of 7-1, pushing their record to 7-0 and maintaining their rank as the No. 2 team in the nation. That rank, by the way, is the highest for SU since October of 2008.

Not to coincidentally, the only other time they started 7-0 was 2008, which ended with a Final Four run. The Orange are also in the midst of a 32-game home winning streak that dates back to 2009. Oh, and the Orange have now been ranked in the top 10 of the NFHCA poll for 44-straight weeks.

They are really f***ing good.

So far on the season, SU is out-scoring its opponents 32-6. That includes wins over then-No. 2 UNC and then-No. 12 BU.

Some players whom you want to start fawning over include reigning Big East Player of the Week Liz McInerney and senior back Iona Holloway, who seems to have a thing about sharks.

It's a good time to hop on board the bandwagon as the Orange as they head to Rutgers on Friday to put a beatdown on the Knights before a Sunday, Sept. 23rd showdown with fellow No. 2 Princeton in P-town. If SU comes out of its Jersey Road Trip with a 9-0 record, it might be time to start pre-planning for the Final Four in Norfolk.
