2012 Projections: Green is both buried on the depth chart and a frosh walk-on, usually a recipe for standing on the sidelines. But with all the issues on the entire roster, Green may sneak on to the field in one form or another.
The thing about the SU roster is, at tight-end, it's pretty loaded. Junior Beckett Wales, junior Max Beaulieu, senior David Stevens, and senior Carl Cutler are all above Green on the depth chart. Plus, freshman Ron Thompson, a noted recruiting 'get' for Marrone, is also lurking. So it's probably a safe bet Green will be a practice player in 2012, and maybe for his career.
How'd He Get Here?: While there was some talk that Jacob Green transferred in from Ball State, but that Jacob Green is from Cincinnati while this Jacob Green is from Seattle. So, unless we've a stolen identity situation going on here, it looks like our Green is from out west. Why he chose SU? I haven't the foggiest.
What'd Scout/Rivals Say?: I guess it depends on which Jacob Green we're talking about here, but it looks like both were pretty quiet on the now Orange Man Green. But, Green, was an All-Metro selection and played both tight end on offense and defensive end on the other side of the ball during high school. To play those two positions, Green must have a good skill set.

What Doug Marrone Thinks: Coach Doug Marrone is too amped up on about the Curiosity Rover landing on Mars to care about anything else right now. Which is seriously pissing off his assistants who think the team should be, at the least, learning the playbook instead of watching the NASA feed online all the time.
