Syracuse Football Camp: The #SHAMARKO Cometh

2012 Syracuse Orange football camp trudges on and we get closer and closer to opening day. Where we at?

RB: Steve Rene is back but he did not participate in contact drills. Baby steps.

So...how does Devante McFarlane look? Pretty good, says Rahme:

McFarlane (6-foot-194, pounds) displayed a nice burst through the line and a natural cutback ability. He seems to possess a nice blend of speed and power.

WR: Jarrod West was back on the field while Alec Lemon is doing some drills as he heals. Adrian Flemming's status remains unknown other than that he's sustained some kind of ankle lower body injury.

Rahme compares JUCO transfer Chris Clark to Van Chew. That sounds good.

TE: Rahme thinks Sir Beckett Wales has caught Ryan Nassib's eye and the two have become a pretty solid tandem.

OL: Right guard remains the only spot still up for grabs with Rob Trudo trying to unseat Ivan Foy.

DL: Jay Bromley still isn't all the way back but he did participate in light drills, which I assume were non-strenuous drills and not, like, him juggling flashlights.

Because of the depth we have on the D-line, DE Deon Goggins has been working on the inside almost exclusively. That could change when Bromley returns, but it's interesting either way.

DB: Sound the horns. #Shamarko Thomas is back on the field after sitting out last week with a hand upper body injury. Rahme says he looks like he'll be ready to go for Northwestern (whew).

Durell Eskridge and Ritchy Desir are still in a dogfight for starter minutes and both are pushing.
