Tyler Ennis, considered the No. 1 2013 basketball player in Canada and a Top 50 talent by Scout, Rivals and ESPNU, has committed to play for the Syracuse Orange in 2013.

Ennis chose the Orange over Louisville, Memphis, Illinois and UCLA on Thursday evening via an announcement on his AAU team's website.

Syracuse was long considered the front-runner for the 6'2", 180-pound guard, not just because of proximity but also because SU assistant Adrian Autry was basically attached to his hip for the past year.

Ennis is rated the No. 41 player in the 2013 class by ESPNU, No. 12 by Scout and No. 20 by Rivals.

Ennis will come to SU at a critical time when Brandon Triche has just left, Michael Carter-Williams will be the veteran guard (assuming he's still there) and Trevor Cooney will be a developing two-guard.

If you're wondering what Ennis' lazy announcer bingo spot will be, it will most certainly be the fact that he is Canadian, just like Kris Joseph, Andy Rautins and Leo Rautins before him.
