The Syracuse Orange receiving corps are kinda-sorta in a good place. In theory, we've got two studs up top with Sir Alec Lemon and Marcus Sales. After that is a bevy of young receivers desperate to prove their place in the rotation. Unfortunately, Doug Marrone announced today that one of those receivers will have to wait until next year.

Via CuseNation's Mike McAllister, sophomore Kyle Foster will miss the entire 2012 season with the dreaded "lower body injury."

"He’s out for the year," explained Marrone. "I’m disappointed in that because we were trying to get him involved last year in the offense and he’s a big, very talented kid. But we’re not going to be able to talk about him until next year."

Foster nabbed seven tackles in seven games last year on special teams. He did play a little bit at receiver and the hope was that he'd be able to play some more this year. However, he spent all spring on the sidelines and now he'll remain there until 2013.

Marrone and Nate Hackett are both on record as saying Foster has some pretty amazing pass-catching ability, so that will be missed. Now it's up to Jeremiah Kobena, Adrian Flemming, Keenan Hale and the rest of the receivers to step it up.
