Class of 2013 Syracuse Orange football recruit Zach Allen recently competed in the Elite 11 Camp last week and although he was not among those final 11 (out of 25), he put up some impressive numbers and impressed a lot of folks.
He ran one of the top shuttle times, finished 2nd in the accuracy competition, He worked closely with Heisman candidate Matt Barkley, listened to folks like Pete Carroll talk and drew praise once again from Trent Dilfer, who may end up getting Syracuse season tickets next year at this point.
@WildcatSwag12 Thank you for being everything @elite11 is about. Fierce Competitor, trainable, humble, tough, thermostat leader & #QBSurgeon

I have no idea what a thermostat leader is but it sounds fantastic.
Here's what Mike Farrell at Rivals.com had to say about Allen:
Allen looked smooth in his drops, and has a long frame and good mechanics. He was one of the more impressive quarterback early, but faded a bit toward the end.
But at the end of the day, what you've got to love about Allen is everything we're hearing about his cheerleading for Syracuse football. We've heard a lot of stories about him talking to other potential SU recruits about coming to SU and he hasn't let up as of yet:
@ppfootball1 Syracuse all the way. I committed as a QB this year and I could not be happier.

You hope for these kind of traits from your quarterback as they develop in college. That he's already on that page before he even gets here is quite the bonus. Long way to go before Allen signs on the dotted line and matriculates but so far, so very good.
