Staten Island running back Augustus Edwards, the No. 3 recruit in New York State, will announce the school he will play football for at 10:00 a.m. this morning.
Edwards is choosing between the Syracuse Orange, Virginia Cavaliers, N.C. State Wolfpack and Maryland Terrapins.
The press conference will be streamed live on MSGVaristy.com.
Edwards' recruiting is of extremely special interest to the Orange since he and Brooklyn defensive end Ebenezer Ogundeko are apparently in a package deal with one another. They have both publicly mentioned that they would like to play in college together. In fact, Ogundeko will be there at the presser when Edwards announces. So this could be the first of the best 1-2 football punch for Syracuse football recruiting in years.
Edwards' former Tottenville teammate Alvin Cornelius is currently on the Syracuse roster and he's friendly with Wayne Morgan, whom he hung out with when he visited SU.
Edwards ran for 1,411 yards and 11 touchdowns (14 total) last season for Tottenville.
