Wayne Morgan, Alvin Cornelius and Omari Palmer will lead the New York City team tonight against Devante McFarlane, Ryan Norton and Long Island in the 17th annual United Healthcare Empire Challenge at Hofstra University.
Past Syracuse-bound participants include Steve Gregory, Andrew Tiller, Mike Owen, Jay Bromley (who was discovered after dominating this game, fun fact), Malcolm Cater, Michael Hay, Robert Welsh, Jeremiah Kobena, Steven Rene, Mario Tull, John Kinder, Ivan Foy, Brandon Reddish, Ryan Sloan, and Terrel Hunt...so...basically every big time player that we've gotten from New York City/Long Island not named Doug Hogue.
The game, which supports former Cincinnati Bengal and New York Jet quarterback Boomer Esiason's foundation in the fight against cystic fibrosis, begins at 7:30 live on MSG Varsity, with coverage beginning at 7 pm. I will be at the game live tonight, and will be posting updates on Twitter, and I plan to start a live gamethread on here as well.
On top of that, I should be getting some time to interview the five future Syracuse players, so if you have any questions you'd like me to ask them, leave a comment below.
