Syracuse Recruiting: Rochester's Devan Carter Commits To Cuse

If you've got some Syracuse Orange football gear that says "D. Carter" on it, don't throw it out just yet! It's about to become handy all over again.

Linebacker Devan Carter of Rochester's Brighton High School verbally-committed to play for the Orange in 2013 over the weekend. He's the 2nd linebacker to commit to SU in the past week.

Carter is another one of those commits that doesn't have a rating on the recruiting sites, though Rivals does say he had interest from Rutgers, UConn, UMass and Buffalo. They also say he runs a 4.54 40.

Carter plays at RB, like another D. Carter we're familiar with, though the Orange seem intent on bringing him in as a LB. Nice to know the option is available as we've seen a lot of guys swap positions during their time at SU. In 2011, he gained 1,440 yards and scored 14 TDs on 169 carries, setting a few school records along the way.
