Last year we counted down every SU football player from Chandler Jones (#99) to Phil Thomas (#1), as you can see here. Well both of those guys (and a few more in between) are gone and it's time to profile the entire 2012 Syracuse Orange football roster starting with the highest number and working out way down. Let's get to it...

Player: Zack Chibane

Number: #75

Position: Offensive line

Year: Senior

Height: 6'5''

Weight: 293 pounds

Hometown: Paramus, NJ

High School: Paramus H.S.

2011 Stats: Chibane was one of eleven players to start every game for the Orange last season. He helped anchor a line that allowed Antwon Bailey to run for over 1,000 yards and Ryan Nassib to throw a whole bunch of footballs.

2012 Projections: By all accounts, Chibane will once again be an anchor on this offensive line. He's started every game for the past two seasons and he's slotted in as our starting left guard this year. If Justin Pugh comes back from his injury and is able to play well, the left side of our line might be the best it's been in years.

How'd He Get Here: Chibane originally committed to play for the USF Bulls. Thankfully, then-SU assistant Derrick Jackson made Chibane re-think his decision and he ended up switching to the Orange. He also had an offer from Temple, but they're Temple. So he's going to have quite a few teams on the schedule this season that he might have ended up with.

What did Scout/Rivals Say?: Rivals and Scout both had Chibane as a two-star OL. From two-stars to three-years starting.

Money Quote: "I have always loved Syracuse University and throughout to recruiting process I thought that if they ever offered I would love to be a part of the program. Not only did Syracuse offer but with this great coaching and recruiting situation it's something I feel great about joining. Syracuse pretty much sells itself as an academic institution and after meeting with Coach Adkins and Coach Jackson in my school I knew the athletics would soon be top notch."

Links of Wonder: Chibby is a prolific tweeter, which you probably already know if you follow him.

What Does Marrone Think?: "I go down to New Jersey and I do a clinic. Everyone knows my background in on the offensive line. One of the coaches at the clinic says, 'I saw you took this kid from Paramus High School. You know, I'm just going to tell you I think he's this. I think he's that.' And I said, 'I don't really care what you think.' This kid is a good football player. He's got leadership ability and he's an ex-wrestler. We all know what type of football players these ex-wrestlers are. He's someone who has a chance to compete early for us." - Marrone on Chibane when he recruited him.

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: His full first name is Zacharia. Use it well.

Let Us Get a Good Look Atchya: Zack was part of the offensive player panel after the spring game this year (Captain possibility?):
