Last year we counted down every SU football player from Chandler Jones (#99) to Phil Thomas (#1), as you can see here. Well both of those guys (and a few more in between) are gone and it's time to profile the entire 2012 Syracuse Orange football roster starting with the highest number and working out way down. Let's get to it...

Player: Lou Alexander

Number: #77

Position: Offensive Tackle

Year: Senior

Height: 6'4"

Weight: 331

Hometown: Palmdale, CA

High School: Highland HS

2011 Stats: Played in no games

2012 Projections: Lou Alexander enrolled at SU in January of 2011 but didn't see the field at all during the 2011 season. He must have shown HCDM something during the spring, though, because he's listed as the starting RT on the current depth chart. The departure of Michael Hay left an opening on the line and Alexander seized it. If he becomes a staple on the line in the fall, expect a lot of Orange rushes going to his side.

How'd He Get Here: Alexander was a JUCO transfer from College of the Canyons. He started on the line there for Coach Garrett Tujagne and helped the Cougars win the 2008 National Division Northern Conference Championship with a 10-0 record. In 2009, he and his line-mates allowed the team to average a phenomenal 325.1 rush YPG.

What did Scout/Rivals Say?: Scout only gave him a deuce while Rivals gave him three stars.

Money Quote: On his role as a reserve when arriving in Syracuse:

“I’m just a competitor, so I want to go out there every day and compete and just get that No. 1 spot.”

What Does Marrone Think?: Nothing that can be put in quotation marks, though Marrone has been on the big fella about staying in shape.

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Given name Louiszell Kat Alexander. Considering his name and his girth, is a "Big Kat" moniker far off? I think not.

Let Us Get a Good Look Atchya: Some JUCO footage of the big guy (he's #55):
